Communication Ministry

Purpose:
This ministry is a part of outreach ministry. The ministry Informs the Church about various meetings, events, and other concerns affecting the church through parish notices and inform the public through the web and Facebook.
Mission:
The Communications Ministry’s mission is to build community through communication by sharing the church’s story with its members and community to move people toward becoming disciples for Christ. The Communications Ministry works to strengthen communications throughout the church, by enhancing the exchange of information between members using the most efficient and effective means available. The Communications Ministry focuses on utilizing and developing internal and external communications resources, to facilitate connecting individuals within the church in order to provide a stronger experience of Christian Community and outreach. The ministry includes the website, Facebook, parish notices and newsletters.

Dance Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to assist in ushering in the spirit of praise and worship in preparing the hearts and minds of the congregation for the Holy Spirit through praise dance.
Mission:
The mission of Dance Ministry is to equip individuals to understand worship and God’s purpose through dance and self-expression.

The mission is to provide care for members of the congregation with the love of God, keep a current prospect file, develop a visitation program, set congregation growth and goals and follow up on visitors and assist in getting new members into the church family.

The Health and Wellness Ministry is an outreach ministry designed to inform and educate the church and community families on important health issues. The ministry focuses on overall human being (spiritual, mental, and physical health/wellness). Interaction among other agencies/organizations who have a common interest in general health and fitness.
Mission:
The mission is to educate & engage church members and visitors in health-related activities during church services through a medical moment presentation at 11:00 am worship once a month and educate the community through an Annual Health and Wellness Day Activities to promote healthy lifestyles.

Hospitality (Social) Ministry is a Nurture Ministry designed to provide fellowship to the Church members which include the arrangement for quarterly meals and arrange repast for deceased members.
Mission:
The mission of the Hospitality Ministry to provide the services needed to enhance, uplift, and encourage the church family through acts of kindness and service.

Wesley hot dog ministry is a way to live out the Power of WE, by showing our Love to our neighbors and to the body of Christ, giving ourselves and our resources for kingdom work to help others, and by having mercy on our fellow man, by extending apprenticeship one to another for the making of disciples for the kingdom of God for the transformation of the world.
Mission:
The mission is to give immediate attention to the demographic communities. This will be done by being able to provide food to those in need, address hunger within the community during the last part of the month when the food stamps and other sources of food run out.
This is a community outreach mission ministry of Wesley United Methodist Church. It is held once a month. The Hot Dog Ministry will provide food from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M., on the 4th or the 5th Saturday of each month. The serving committee consist of 12 to 20 people, who are a combination of youths, young adults, middle age, and senior adults. Soup will be served during winter months along with hot dog. Committee members will extend Christian love to the community and render prayers to those who requested it. Also, when fruits and vegetables are received from St. Andrews, who gleans food throughout Mississippi, it will be distributed to the community along with can goods and perishable items received from the congregation.

Purpose:
United Methodist Men (UMM) shall be a creative supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily His will. The primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships.
Mission:
This organization provides a dedicated ministry for building men spiritually and involving men in the total ministry of the Church. The organization also by encouraging knowledge and support of the church’s mission provides a dedicated ministry for building men spiritually and involving men in the total ministry of the Church.
The United Methodist Men (UMM) strive to support men in their effort to know Jesus Christ and carry out His will in their lives. The organization seek to promote spiritual growth and nutrition throughout the entire church community through the faith/works of men.

Chair:
The Music Ministry is vital to the life of the church. It is one way we connect with God and each other. When God’s people praise Him, it moves God to move on our behalf! It also brings the body of Christ together on one accord.
Senior Choir is comprised of individuals age 19 and older. Choir sings on the 1st and 4th Sundays. The choir sings at other churches and community events as requested.* Rehearsals are held on the Saturday before the lst and 4th Sundays and others rehearsals will be held as needed for special events.
Youth and Children Choir is comprised of individuals age 5 to 18, or younger at the discretion of the Youth director. Choir sings on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays and at other churches and community events as requested. The mission is to educate and engage church members and interested community senior citizens in their spiritual growth through social involvement, exercise class. Also, by providing services to the sick and shut ins and youth during special occasions.

United Methodist Women is committed to developing strong leaders through education and training that equip women with leadership skills. The organization offers women opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of mission, grow spiritually and make a difference in the lives of women, children and youth. As a member of United Methodist Women, opportunities are offered to serve at the local, district, conference, jurisdiction and national levels.
